The first research: Where is Onix?

[Maximillion]

After traveling for several days to get to the Anino Tunnel, the newly appointed researcher, Maximillion Sawada finally arrived there in order to do what he was assigned to do: To get a sample from a wild Onix so that Professor Akane would see why its body is that sturdy. As he was thinking the importance of his task, the trainer could not wait. Only accompanied by his newly evovled Gallade, the trainer entered the tunnel impatiently in order to find the Onix... His other pokemon, a Ducklett did not feel very well so he sent it at his house in order to recover for a while. And now, the trainer has just started the exploration of the tunnel with his partner...

[Kenji]

When Max entered the cave, he completely missed the pokemon at the entrance, then again no one could blame him. The pokemon looked exactly like any ordinary rock, or at least its shell did. The Dwebble waited as Max passed by, entering the tunnel. It then stood up and scurried after Max, hardly making a sound. The Dwebble followed Max deeper into the tunnel for a few minutes before getting bored. It was about to turn and leave, when it noticed Max's pokedex sticking out of his pocket, OOOOOH SHINY!!!!

Dwebble like shiny things, the hermit crab like pokemon scurried over to Max, so it was now infront of the trainer. It pointed to his pocket with a claw, before charging forward, slashing at Max's shins with a fury cutter attack.

[Maximillion]

The trainer was surprised to see that he was being attacked by the Dwebble. However, as any wild pokemon it was probably easy to take care of. He took a deep breath and picked up Gallade's pokeball. He threw it on the ground and said "Come on Gallade! Strike this Dwebble with Slash!". The pokemon nodded and said "Gallade!" as it swang its right arm and attempted to slash Dwebble to the head. The two attacks were probably going to clash with each other...

[Hatarou]

The poor little Dwebble was caught off and instinctively retreated into it's shell. Gallade's slash collided into it's rock hard shell doing little to no damage to the Dwebble. It than came out again andstarted to use Rock Polish. It instantly got faster as it's rock became much smoother. "Dwebble-Dweb!" It than sped toward the Gallade and opened it's jaws and attempted a Bug bite on the Gallade.

[Maximillion]

Maximillion sighed. The wild pokemon seemed to not understand that Gallade was definetely much stronger than it was. The trainer said "Damn, I don not want to cause you any damage but you are the one insisting on battling! Gallade! Use Teleport to teleport behind Dwebble and strike it with a Slash attack!". In an instant, Gallade disappeared and moved behind Dwebble. Then, it swang its right elbow and attempted to Slash Dwebble to cause it some damage. The battle had just started.

[Hatarou]

Dwebble was caught off the gaurd and got the full brunt of Gallade's attack. It was knocked onto it's side and struggled to get up but couldn't. All the ruckus though had attracted another pokemon. It was black and had an awkward shape to it. It was a U shaped unown. "Unown?" It saw the Dwebble on it's side and went to go help it. It attempted to bring the crab back up, which it easily did using it's psychic ability. The Dwebble than ran away leaving only the unown there.

[Maximillion]

Maximillion smiled as soon as he noticed that his pokemon finally managed to cause retreat to the wild Dwebble. The pokemon probably was not too strong and wanted to show that it was to feel better. The trainer did not have any problem with that... However, it should not have attacked him for no reason.

Afterwards, he congratulated his pokemon that defeated the Dwebble with little effort. However, he was surprised to see a U shaped Unown. After scanning it with his pokedex he said "This pokemon looks great." and moved towards it to watch it carefully. He was also a researcher, after all.

[Hatarou]

"Unown?" The U shaped pokemon was confused. This guy was just staring at him. He didn't see it as a threat and just floated there for a second. "Unown..." The pokemon was getting bored. It floated towards the guy and stared at his hands. It landed into it's hands for a sec and flew off. It started shaking a bit and urged the person to follow him.

[Maximillion]

"What a weird pokemon..." were the trainer's first thoughts who saw an Unown for the first time in his whole life. He sighed and said "I would like to meet you, but I have a job to do. Unless you want something for me.". The trainer-researcher was in a rush. He wanted to find an Onix and collect the samples that the professor asked him, after all... He had to hurry so that the professor would be satisfied with his job as her assistant.

[Hatarou]

Unown just stared at him seeing that he wasn't keen in following it. "Unown!" It had gotten an idea. It picked up a small rock and waved it in front of him. He was hoping he'd get what Unown meant. It than floated back and than close to him again. Unown wanted the person to follow it so it could help out the person. Days like this is when an Unown wish it could talk.

[Maximillion]

As soon as the trainer watched at the pokemon and he realized that it wanted to tell him something. However, he could not understand what it was. He thought "If I wait for it to explain, it will take me a while... So I would better follow to see what it is up to." and so he decided to start following the Unown so that he would understand what it wanted to say to him. The wild pokemon had definetely picked his curiosity...

[Kenji]

The unknown brought Max deeper and deeper into the tunnel, traveling for several minutes before turning a corner and emerging in a massive cavern. Up above, Unknown floated about. However there seemed to be an order to their movements, almost as if they were spelling words, or at least trying to. They went through the cavern and came to a smaller room. The walls were covered with intricate markings, which upon closer inspection turned out to be carvings of unknown. In the center of the room was what looked like a TM, sitting upon a raised pedestal. It was there for the taking, perfectly untouched and totally usable, would Max take it? Or leave it be and continue his life wondering, WHAT COULD IT HAVE BEEN?!?!?!

[Maximillion]

Max took a good look at the small disc that the Unown showed him from afar. He could not understand what it was, but that was probably what the Unown wanted to tell him. It probably wanted Maximillion to take the TM. He looked towards Unown and asked "Is that what you wanted to show me?" as he started moving towards it quickly to see what it was. He would definetely not leave and WONDER WHAT IT IS... That was the actual reason he became a researcher, after all. He wanted to explore and there was nothing that could stop him from doing so.

[Kenji]

When Max took the disk, the room began to shake and suddenly the pedestal lowered into the ground. The unknown looked around, obviously very frightened as to what was going on. Suddenly the walls began to close in on Max, Unknown panicked and floated through the door they had come in from. Unfortunately for Max, as soon as the unknown passed through a huge stone tablet fell and blocked the door. There was now no means of escape, Max was doomed. The walls were quickly closing in on him. It would only take a minute for the young trainer to be crushed to a bloody pulp. However, if Max noticed the small indent in the ground where the pedestal had been, that might save his life.

[Maximillion]

Maxulus took a good look around him, not panicked at all. It looked like he had plenty of time before he would be crashed. He had already thought of a way to escape but something else made him wonder... If this place was a trap, it would be one for some reason. Something valuable was probably hidden in the room, except from the thing that he picked up. As he looked around, he watched at the small indent and moved to see it...

[Kenji]

When Max opened the crack in the floor, a hole opened up and he dropped through. He fell to the ground, relatively hard but was back in the tunnel. Up above the hole he had fallen through sealed itself again and that was that. Suddenly there was a loud rumbling, it came from further down the tunnel. What could it be? There was a loud crash and what sounded like a deep and relatively scary roar. Anyone in their right mind wouldn't be dumb enough to go down there. Then again, this was Max, and he was a researcher!

[Maximillion]

Maximillion listened to that huge roar. He was surprised after he listened to it. It was scary indeed. However, it could be what he was searching for. It could be the wild Onix he desperately wanted to meet so that he would get the samples from it and give them to the professor. He moved Gallade's pokeball out of his pockets and said "Come out Gallade!" as he threw it on the ground and Gallade appeared. Then, he said "Let us go and see what is going on downwards..." as he started heading towards the place where the sound was coming from.

[Hatarou]

As Max walked down the cooridor to find the source of the noise. Unfortunately the source of the noise would find him instead. A Rhydon charged at him with fierce ferousity. It initially missed its 1st charge. It dragged it's foot as it prepared to use Take down. It roared as it charged at the other pokemon. Rhydon itself didn't feel like fighting but it had to protect what was ahead!

[Maximillion]

Maximillion sighed as he looked towards the Rhydon that attacked it. He did not expect to be attacked at a time like this. However, Gallade had a move that was ULTRA effective and was unavoidable. Unfortunately for Rhydon, the trainer commanded his pokemon "Use Magical Leaf!" and Gallade did so. Many leaves appeared around it and headed towards Rhydon like a homing missile. Although Magical Leaf was not a very strong move it was strengthened by the type advantage over Rhydon. Maximillion was pretty sure that he would KO the Rhydon with two hits the most.

[Hatarou]

He charged right into the Magical leaf and it tripped after it got hit. It let out a small roar as it fell. It slid on the floor right in front of the Gallade. It struggled to get up, "Rhydon..." It stood back up, though struggling it tried using horn attack on the Gallade. It went up to it and attempted to gore it by moving it's horn up and down. It had to protect it's territory from the intruders! Even if it meant fainting!

[Maximillion]

Maximillion smiled as he saw his pokemon damaging the Rhydon. The wild pokemon seemed to have taken much damage. That was good. He had almost defeated it. As he realized that Rhydon was about to use Horn Attack, the trainer pointed towards it with a determined face and said "Gallade! Use Teleport to dodge the attack and then strike with Magical Leaf!". In a blink of an eye, Gallade disappeared right before Rhydon hit it with the horn attack and appeared behind it. Then, a bunch of leaves appeared around Gallade's body and moved towards Rhydon while it still had its back turned... The undodgeable move was moving towards the pokemon...

[Hatarou]

It let out a small roar as it was struck by the barrage Of the magical leaves. The giant rhino pokemon fell to the floor and had fainted. "Rhyhorn..." it muttered. Rhyhorn had failed in protecting his territory. As the Rhyhorn fell to the a larger roar had echoedthroughout the cooridoor. It seemed whatever that had made the trembling roar was at the end of the path. The roar continued once again.

[Maximillion]

[Yay! Gallade got 1 experience!]

After seeing that Gallade managed to defeat the wild pokemon, without returning it back at its pokeball the trainer decided to head towards the place where the sound was coming from, without showing any traces of fear. His passion for exploring places would not let him get frightened despite the fact that the roar could be heard louder and louder as he was approaching it... And so, the trainer started running towards the place along with his Gallade to see what the sound was.

[Hatarou]

Max finally reached the end to find a large cavernous room. Their laid a Larger than normal Onix. It let out a large and booming roar that shook the room. It laid back down at seeing the tiny people. However there laid on it's head was a crown shaped rock on it's head. It was the king of that area of the cavern in it's eyes. It didn't attack immediately it just stayed precautious to the intruders.

[Maximillion]

"This is it! An Onix!" where the trainer's words to his dear Gallade. He finally managed to find the pokemon he had been looking for. Although he did not like attacking wild pokemon without a reason, the trainer had to do so this time otherwise he would be unable to get the samples for the professor. Without any hesitation and without getting frightened by the fact that the Onix was larger than normal, the trainer commanded his Gallade "Use Magical Leaf on Onix!". Hopefully, just like the previous pokemon he happened to encounter, this one had a 4x weakness to grass as well... The trainer believed that defeating it would be an easy task.
