I guess it's about time we revive Pokemon of the Week, eh? Although at this point, it's more Pokemon of every other month. For our first official POTW- the topic will be hot, but oh so simple. Yep, this week's subject is: Generation V

What's your favorite Pokemon from the most recent generation? Why?

Nomination: Denchura
Reasoning: I mean, C'mon. They are one of the few Spider Pokemon around. Its Bug/Electric type erases the usually obvious Ground weakness of most Electrics. They have only two weaknesses: Rock/Fire. They also are Resistant against Fighting, Steel, Grass, and Electric attacks. It can produce electrical webbing, which means just touching the webs will paralyze you. I also saw in the manga Pokemon Master Black and White, the Denchura in the first chapter burrowed itself underground. It makes a perfect ninja-type fighter. It can also know Bug Buzz, Gastro Acid, and Sucker Punch, giving it a well versed set of moves. It can also learn the TMs Toxic, Poison Jab, Energy Ball, Protect, Swagger, and Substitute. They are also currently the only Pokemon capable of possessing the Tension Ability, which is very useful against berry-strategies.

Nomination:Darmanitan
Reasoning:I played throfh the whole game and as soon as I got this I just breezed through. When it reaches level 100 it has around 400 attack max. It is powerful against all of the elite 4 in gen 5 and against N too. It looks cool and it's muscular structure has earned it the title 'Chimchar on steroids' by me and my friends. It clearly has no type advantages but this isn't a problem when you can powerhouse through and destroy your opponents.

Reasoning: First of all, it's the first straight up dragon line ever, so that automatically makes it a winner. Second, it has freaking axes built into it mouth, I mean that's just awesome. Third, look at its attack stat, 147 holy poop, that could rape anything. So yes Ononokus is the best gen 5 pokemon >_>b

Nomination: Ulgamoth
Reasoning: First off, it has a funny name, but it's funny cause it's true; most moths that you will see in your lifetime will most likely be ugly. Beside from this it's a pretty odd/unique Pokemon. I mean, it's a Fire and a Bug Type Pokemon; come on, when will you ever see one of these besides its pre-evolved form? It can stand against the type of Pokemon that its usually weak against (we call them fire types). Besides that, it can easily beat a Bug Type Pokemon. If that didn't win you over, this will: It learns three amazing moves, Heat Wave, Bug Buzz, and Windstorm, once leveled high enough; trust, it's worth the wait. Besides that what Bug type Pokemon do you know that can learn Fire Blast (Fire Type), Overheat (Fire Type), Wild Charge (Electric Type), and Fly (Flying Type)? Overall, this Pokemon is pretty epic, wouldn't you agree?

Nomination: Waruvial



Reason:

Other than the fact that it's easily one of the coolest designs of generation V, it's stats aren't phenomenal, but the description in itself is pretty cool. Apparently it's eyes are pretty much built in binoculars, with the ability to zoom in and target prey; Waruvial, after having targeted a prey, will never let it escape. The fact that it has incredibly powerful jaws fully capable of destroying an automobile with one swift snap - makes it much easier to catch and destroy. Finally, although a lot of people don't like it because it has a lot of weaknesses; it's typing is sexy. Dark/Ground - speaking of which, that reminded me to add one to Mysie's team ... Others: it is the only pokemon with a base stat total of 509.
