After getting seperated from his partner Gallade, for the first time during his journey in Katsu, the trainer/ researcher Maximillion Sawada was sent around the island in search of a fire stone. Knowing that the place was full of Fire type pokemon the trainer decided to bring Ducklett, a pokemon he caught in Ventus Town with him so that he would train him. And now, the trainer arrives in the Groudon Ruins, while searching for the Fire Stone that the tutor wanted in exchange for training his Gallade...

Ah the outskirts of the Groundon Ruins what a splendor to see. However Max was on his quest and it had to be done he had to get an almighty fire stone! Max had started to move into the ruins to see if he could find the rare stone. Trust me it was not going to easy! To start off his mighty adventure Max had came upon a smaller than normal Cubone. It was crying very loudly, "Cuuu!!!"

The trainer along with his Ducklett that was standing on his shoulder moved towards the baby Cubone that was crying. The trainer could not see it crying... He was getting sad as well. He wanted to learn the reason why that happened and so he moved towards it and after looking at what kind of pokemon it was with his pokedex, he asked "Cubone... Why are you crying? Is something going on?". The trainer wanted to help the pokemon and if it gave him the chance, he would do so...

Cubone saw the person and continued to cry. The person petted the Cubone and cubone said, "Cu-" Which is translated into, "I'm so hungry i haven't been able to find food in awhile.." Than the small cubone started to rub it's stomach area as it started to cry a bit more. "Cubone!!!" It stopped crying for a second when it noticed the faint smell of a berry coming from the man. It sniffed at the man and urged him to feed it.

The trainer smiled as he looked at the pokemon smelling at him. It probably smell the food he had for the pokemon... As he was about to take out the food, though, he noticed that he had a Cheri Berry. The berry smell well... That could be what the wild pokemon was smelling. He grabbed it immediately and he moved it towards Cubone. He asked "Do you want to eat this berry?" as he moved it in front of the pokemon. The trainer wanted to stop the pokemon from crying so he would do anything that could help.

The cubone had than snatched the berry from the man. It had than turned around and ate the berry in which ever way a cubone eats. It had finally finished the berry and was so thankful to the man. "Cu" Which means, "Thank you! In return i shall help you throughout these ruins!" The small Cubone raised it's clubb and started to march forward!

The trainer did not understand at all what the pokemon said but he could pressume that it would guide him through the ruins so he started following. As the pokemon was guiding him, he asked the pokemon "Cubone... I was wondering. Have you seen a fire stone around?". The pokemon could be helpful. If it knew where a fire stone was it could guide Maximillion there and then he would be able to give it to the tutor in exchange for the move that he would teach his Gallade.

The Cubone, Twirled its bone in the air like a baton, and then it smiled at you for a brief moment. It stopped where it stood and put its bone in the air as it was using it to leads it way. It placed the bone in front of its body having it point in the forward direction that you were already heading. It then pointed it in the sideways direction and started walking that way. Apparently I suppose it knew where it was going as it waddled on down to lead you to the supposed fire stone.

The trainer sighed and started following the wild pokemon by running. The earth type pokemon probably knew where it was going and the trainer was completely trusting it. Unlike some other pokemon he happened to meet on the island, this one was baby and probably had no bad plans in its mind. He was almost sure that it was not deceiving him... And so, he was following, hoping that the pokemon would lead him to the fire stone he was searching for, for a while...

The cubone came to a fork in the road as there were two tunnels both leading in opposite directions of eachother, but lead it to cubone to find the right way. As it sniffed the air to smell its humidity and what not cubones bone twicted and pointed in toward the cave to the right of you. Cubone turned around and jumped up and down as it called out to you, "Cubone bone!" He said with a cheerful glee as it waddled faster in that cave almost forgetting to wait for you.

"Hey, Cubone! Wait!" were the trainer's words to the wild pokemon that seemed to be in a rush... He could not understand why the pokemon was in a rush but the trainer believed that it was to show him where the fire stone he was looking for desperately, was. Seeing that Cubone was not stopping, he started running behind it and after some time, he and his Ducklett finally managed to catch up to it at the time it was about to enter the cave. As soon as he saw the cave, the trainer said "So... It probably is inside that cave? Then, we shall get in the cave!". The trainer looked quite happy. He was living and adventure, after all...

The Cubone hesitated for just a moment, giving you enough time to catch up - before rushing forth once again into the darker depths of the cave. It was a pretty small cave, with a few rays of light slipping through the surface: lighting up the interior for all to see. It looked pretty dry, despite the damp smell. "Cu-cubone!" The pokemon waddled towards the right corner of the cave, jabbing at something with it's bone. It appeared to be a rock... But it was certainly no evolutionary stone. It was red, yes. But it looked more like Indian clay than anything. The Cubone seemed to think this was the 'fire' stone you were looking for - because it was all red and stuff. How disappointing: Cubone's eyes looked up at you inquisitively.

"Relax Cubone..." were the trainer's words to the wild pokemon which seemed to be disappointed because of the fact that it was mistaken. Everyone could make mistakes and so Cubone did. Maximillion would not punish it for that. Instead, he smiled towards it and started peting it in order to make it feel happier. After a while, he got up and said "Anyway, Cubone... I have to find the Fire Stone quick, so I have to get going, but I was wondering... Do you want to come with me as we search for the Fire Stone?". The trainer had definetely taken a liking to the wild pokemon and hoped that it would come with him at his search for the stone...

The creature cocked it's head in mild confusion. It didn't understand - it was to be a temporary member of this human's team? So long as it wasn't enslaved for the rest of it's life like the others, then it didn't mind. Cubone lifted it's bone, tapping it against the trainer's arm with a smile: recognizing him as a partner. Hopefully nothing was misunderstood between the two. The Cubone however, had no further leads on where the fire stone might be hidden. This cave wasn't a bad place to start, though; as it was generally places like this that were covered in rare stones for the pickings. Your ears perked; something was shifting. If you turned, you would see a Torkoal on the other side of the cave, rolling over as it was waking up, yawning loudly - causing the cave to shake slightly. Steam was coming out from it's back - it looked insanely hot, even for a fire pokemon. It looked at you with a yawn, smacking it's red lips together with an indifferent stare.

The pokemon looked interesting. The trainer/ researcher had taken an interest in it. He had never seen a Torkoal in his life before so he was very happy to see one. He picked his pokedex out of his pockets and he placed it towards the turtle's direction. He read "Torkoal, the Coal Pokemon. It burns coal inside its shell for energy. It blows out black soot if it is endangered.". The pokemon was definetely one that was worth receiving a research. However, he did not have time for that. He would better try and befriend it. He moved towards it with a smile on his face and said "Hello Torkoal! I am Max! Nice to meet you!" while he moved his right hand forward in order to greet it.

At the meantime, he was wondering why Torkoal was that hot...

Groudon Island Aventures: The tutor's Fire Stone! Empty Re: Groudon Island Aventures: The tutor's Fire Stone!

Post by Shiz Sun Feb 27, 2011 8:11 am

The creature stood slowly, staring at you all the while. When you approached, it made no sign of hostility, and simply remained indifferent. However, as soon as you lifted your right hand in greeting, the turtle's back nearly burst into flame, as it shot out an incredibly amount of hot, thick smoke. A smokescreen attack, and a powerful one at that. Considering it had smacked you right in the face - it should take no time for the smoke to fill your lungs and knock you right out cold. At which point, the battle would be between only itself and your single pokemon. The smoke filled the room, reducing your accuracy by a surprising amount: more than any normal smokescreen could manage. It must be because of the small amount of room. This was an incredibly dangerous situation; you, the trainer, was knocked out clean by the smoke filling your body - a natural response from your brain pretty much shut your body's functions off.

The Torkoal wasn't done there, though. It seemed to think itself an expert in regards to mid distance battling. The smokescreen filling the area suddenly didn't seem that grayish black anymore... It was darker, thicker, and had a few hints of purple... It was using smog, while hiding itself behind the smoke from before! The poison would sink into your skin, as well as the other pokemon. It was a sickening feeling...

(You're unconscious, and both you and your pokemon will feel the effects of the poison in two turns. [Two posts each])

Ducklett could feel the effects of the poisoning for which the wild Torkoal was responsible for. The poison was so strong that it was barely able to move. It could talk, but that was nothing as most of its other senses were malfunctioning. The duck pokemon looked towards Torkoal not with an angry face, but with a face that showed his question about why the fire type pokemon did that. Its trainer was uconscious and it could feel that it would fall unconscious as well... As for the Cubone, it did not know. It looked around to see how the ground type pokemon was but it's vision was getting more and more blurry as the time passed. Maximillion and his team were in danger!

The Torkoal couldn't see Ducklett's questioning stare through the fumes. If it did, it's demeanor wouldn't change, however. It was a wild pokemon - and this was it's lair. Unwelcome visitors, were by definition, unwelcome - especially trainers. As such, the creature took it upon itself to rid the threat. The turtle laid down, withdrawing into it's shell. Not for the purpose of defense, however... It muttered itself name is it pulled it's legs in completely, before it suddenly began to spin at a rapid pace. Yes, rapid spin. It's shell began to drag across the floor, and it finally lifted off, spinning madly in midair around it's foes. It was hard enough to hit in the first place: but at least now the smokescreen was dispersing... Or not. Torkoal was spewing smoke from even with it's shell. The cave was only getting more and more filled with smoke - and now it was near impossible to hit, whatsoever. Torkoal's body was heating up... It was getting ready for it's next attack.

The Ducklett could not understand what was going on around him due to his condition. However, it could still understand that something was wrong... very wrong. It would not care if it was attacked. It cared because its friend, Max as well as Cubone were probably in trouble. Seeing the smokescreen that was coming out of Torkoal like darkness, the pokemon had a strange feeling. Thinking that the Smokescreen was a very strong attack that was used to harm Maximillion, the pokemon's will to fight increased. Ignoring it's current condition and in an attempt to counter the attack, the pokemon started using Water Pulse randomly around the area, ALMOST hitting Maximillion in the process. It wanted to stop Torkoal and it would do it no matter what.

(Water Pulse is enough to break bones...)

Hitting Max wasn't the best thing for Ducklett to do. The pokemon heard something 'crack'; probably one of it's trainer's bones breaking. Had to wonder how that would effect the pokemon's actions from here on out. Attacking randomly wasn't a good idea - nor was getting too close to his trainer. After all, he was certain that the fire turtle wouldn't hesitate in attacking the fallen human. Torkoal continued to spin in circles, but it's attacks alternated:

At one point it would shoot out more smoke to keep itself hidden - and then it would begin to shoot out licks of fire; fire spin, scattering small tornadoes of flames throughout the cave. It was dangerous... It was unfortunate that Ducklett wasn't strong enough to carry his person to safety. Cubone was unconscious, having been caught by one of the tornadoes for who knows how long. It lay there groaning it's name, with spinning eyes.

The Ducklett listened to the crack. For a moment it thought that it broke something, but if it broke any bones the "crack" would be heard much louder. Angered by the Torkoal, the water type pokemon wanted to beat it no matter what and so it tried to concentrate. It was only seeing a blurry image; there was fire around a completely black spot. The pokemon thought that it was watching hell. However, it knew that it was still alive as it could still feel the pain that came from the poisoning of Torkoal. Soon enough, the pokemon was hit by the Fire Spin. However, due to the fact that it was a water type, it could still battle. With much difficulty, the duck moved its head upwards. Then, it started launching Water Pulse once again randomly, with one of them hitting Torkoal by luck (AUTO-HIT USED!)...

Duckett had randomly started firing a water pulse move and one had hit it. "Toarkoal!" Toarkoal was almost taken down by it but had shooken itself dry and got angered at it's dowsed flames. It hard than started to charge and had used take down. "Toarkoal! Toar!" Steam had flared out of it's nose and back as it used it's take down attack

As Ducklett seemed to be defeating the wild Torkoal, the trainer was finally feeling better. He deeply opened his eyes as he understood that he fell unconscious because of that wild Torkoal. He took a deep breath and he said to his pokemon after seeing Torkoal charging with Take Down "Dodge and use Water Pulse!". However, Ducklett could not see where Torkoal was coming from and was hit. Then, it started randomly attacking, hoping that it would cause some damage to the Torkoal and protect its trainer.

The Torkoal had been exstatic to have hit the ducklett. '"Tor!" But than all of a sudden, "Tor!" It had been hit by another Water Pulse and it fell onto it's side. All it did was struggle to get up but couldn't, "Tor..." Than out of the little hole which lies on top of every torkoal a small red stone had fallen out. Had it been what they were looking for! It was! The Torkoal had been carrying a fire stone on it for protection. And now it was Max's for the taking.

[Yay! Ducklett got 1 experience!]

The trainer smiled as he saw that his Ducklett managed to defeat the wild Torkoal. However, as soon as it defeated the fire type pokemon, it fell on the ground unconscious as well, probably because of its poison condition. He sighed and said "You were great Ducklett...". Then, he moved towards the Fire Stone. He took a look at it and he realized that it was what he was looking for. He was very happy... He picked it up, he placed it in his pockets and said to Cubone. "I have to go now, Cubone. Thanks for accompanying me..." as he started leaving from the cave...
